The Umzimkulu Marina down the south coast of KZN, sits on the south bank of the mighty Umzimkulu River, Port Shesptone.
Fish eagles wake you in the morning, to clear views out across the river and into the Umtentweni Conservancy. The serene quiet invites travelers and fisherfolk to enjoy the peace of nature not even five minutes from the hustle and bustle of Port Shepstone, the economic hub of the area. Shopping centres, hospitals, banks and government administration offices are all close by.
The fishing on the river is first class game fishing with lures – the right time and spot will get you a prize catch of garrick, rock salmon, grunter, kob, perch – maybe even an oxe-eye tarpon or a zambezi shark, both have been caught before, on lures!
